Thanks to Burnley

Apr 20th, 2009 | By | Category: Blues News, Kev's Ramblings

Thanks to a first-half header from Martin Paterson, Burnley beat Sheffield United 1-0 this evening. This means that quite simply a win in either of our remaining games at home to Preston or away to Reading will ensure of us joining the Wolves back in the top flight.

Of course there are other options depending on Sheffield Utd, Reading or Cardiff dropping points, but it is easier to see it in this way.

Mind you, I’ve never known the Blues to do it the easy way so expect a defeat on saturday and us going to Reading needing a win.

(But hopefully not!!)

    Kev please don’t!

Traditionally we are better under pressure and I expect Blues to secure the result they need on Saturday. Despite being on telly I’m going to go although Mrs Bazza will no doubt interrogate me to death as to why I’m driving all that way when I could sit at home and drink beer and watch it? She may have a point but those of us with the football gene will understand! :-)

    KRO SOTV

I’m jealous Baz. I’d loved to have gone to that one – but unless I get a free ticket, I have no chance!!

Enjoy the game and I look forward to a, (hopefully), celebration View From the South.

We COULD just sneak it with a point in each of the next two matches. Sheff U would need to win both their remaining games…

Either way, last night’s result was the best we could have hoped for. I hope Cardiff get rolled over again, tonight.

    KRO!

Still can’t take over Wolves who will win the league…

It’s all about promotion, the title is a nice to have. The Albion won the league and yet struggled after going up whereas the other two sides have faired better. It genuinely doesn’t bother me.

Having said that, I would like to offer my congrats to Wolves for getting promoted.

it nwould be nice to think blues could win promotion in front of a packed (hopefully ! ) st andrews just to say thanks to the fans, but when have we done things the easy way, god forbid we have to get 3pts from reading, lets not frget them blunt blades have a difficult game against swansea who were my tip to go up thru playoffs
