A View of Us from: A Fulham Blogger
May 20th, 2009 | By KevB8ll | Category: Blues News, By Other SupportersI have sent the following questions to bloggers of most of the existing Premier League Sides. Here is the response from the Fulham Blogger.
They can be found on the web here.
The Questions / answers:
1. How do you think we will fare this season?
Impossible to say, but I guess it’s going to be hard without a couple of really good signings. McLeish seems to be a fair manager but not necessarily a very good one. I’m not close enough to comment properly, but I wonder what Birmingham 09/10 will have that Birmingham 07/08 lacked?
2. Where do we need to strengthen?
No idea, but Roy Hodgson has proved that good managers can take good players to great heights.
3. Which players we have do you think will step up?
Again, don’t know enough about the team to comment.
4. What has changed in terms of playing styles since we were last up in 07/08?
Mixed bag really. The problem seems to be that every year another team gets rich/good. So while we might finish 7th this season, with City loaded and Everton, Villa and Spurs surely able to outspend us, every year we’ll go lower and lower down the league. It’s really hard going. I think we’re all learning how important managers are, so in a way it’s all on McLeish. Does he have what it takes?
5. Have you visited our ground? What did you make of your Birmingham away day experience?
No, but I have always meant to! Proper football grounds should be celebrated, after all.
6. What do you think the score will be when we play you this season?
I would assume we’ll beat you at our place – this is the Hodgson effect, we now beat teams we expect to beat at home (before we found ways not to). Away will either be 0-0 or a 1-0 Birmingham win.
