It’s not all good news though, it appears that Toulouse aren’t keen on us signing Argentinian centre back Mauro Cetto and if the stories on the web are true – Cardiff haven’t accepted or even have received an updated bid for Roger Johnson. Apparently we have had a £5 million offer turned down.
It also appears that Oguchi Onyewu won’t be joining us. It seems he is going to Fenerbahce instead.

There is a lot of speculation at the moment, but I wonder how much is just paper talk. According to the directors and manager, they identified their targets some time ago and negotiations are taking place behind the scenes and have been ongoing for weeks. Taking an average between Gold, Sullivan, Brady and Mcleish, we need, or are going to sign 7 players, well todate we have Carr, Dann, Hart, Benitez and it appears Espinoza as well. That only leaves 2 or possibly 3 more. Well we know they are talking to Bowyer, Johnson and if Mcleish is telling the truth, Ferguson. There must be a dozen or more other players that have been ”linked” to us, but none of the management team have ever mentioned, even accidently, they are talking to anyone else. We have Balde coming down from Celtic and possibly Fortune, both for trials. Does anyone know of any other players that are possibly lined up. Spoke to someone from Fulham who said that all the hype about Onyewu was 85% paper talk, we made the same enquiry they did (would he be interested in coming to join us) but no-one took it any further. I feel sorry for Doyle and Pearce, and Shoot if it comes to that, our loaned out players either do not come back or are just let go.
hows this then ………………. i heard we were linked to a ‘mystery’ player ……… van nistleroy and sullivan was going to pay his 90 grand a week wages…………. must be the start of the silly season …………….. or is it !!!!!!!!!!!.
