Today’s Transfer Rumours

Cardiff’s Roger Johnson is still being strongly linked with us. Apparently he can be ours for £5 million, depending on payment type. Johnson is a very good defender – but I’m not sure he is worth paying that much for.
We are also still being linked with Rangers Barry Ferguson, however apparently we haven’t made an offer at this time. It is suggested that £1 million could secure Ferguson’s services. For me, that would be good value for money.
We are also being linked with Toulouse defender Mauro Cetto.
A new one that has popped up today, is Man Utd’s Fabio da Silva. We do need a left back with Murphy being injured and there is a rumour that we might be interested in signing the Utd youngster on loan.
Apparently Geovanny Espinoza is in for a medical, and assuming he passes – will be a Blues player in the next day or so.
So a complete revamp of the defence. I don’t think any Blues fan would be upset about that despite their performances last season. In the Premier League, we would have struggled IMO.
I would like to see us signing an attacking midfielder or 2 aswell. We DEFINITELY need some pace in the middle / out wide. Fahey will do well, but we need at least 1 more.

It looks like the owners are dishing some money this time around. If they buy decent young players they have always got a sell on value. The older ones on loan have no value after seeing out their loan at The Blues. We waste money on wages and then give them away. Why did we let the player of the year Kelly go for free to Fulham.It does not make sense. With Hart on board the goalkeeping is in good hands. Murphy at right back to me is a problem. If there is a fast winger he is left for dead. We definately need some cover for that position. We need another central defender. Some young guy maybe a Johson or some other from Europe. Dann I feel will be good . Dont know anything about the South American. He may be great. Hopefully he will do a good job. Carr as stated is getting on a bit and is too slow to turn. Kelly was more mobile but there you go. Our midfield needs another top class player. We need to spend on this position. Benitez will need feeding with passes on the ground. We need a fit Dunn type.We need to spend 5 mill or more on this position as it is so vital. The forwards with the new addition seem okay. We should let Tiny go and Bent.
I am hopefull for this season, The owners will want to keep us in the Premiership and then hopefully a mega bucks man will buy us. Quality not quantity is the mantra.
