Dublin Supporters Club Talk to Joys and Sorrows

Nov 30th, 2009 | By KevB8ll | Category: Blues News, Blues Supporters Clubs / Websites, Kev's Ramblings

As you know, Aylesburyblue and I attended the new supporters forum before the Fulham game. We met a lot of great people who are either running websites or supporters clubs.

Well we want to do our bit to help by telling you about them. It may be that you live nearby one of these supporters clubs, but been unaware of their existance. So let me introduce to you our first one, the Irish Blues.

The bloke who runs it is called Richard Tyrrell and here is the information he has sent us.

My name is Richard, known as dublinbrummie on sites.

Richard Tyrrell

I’ve been in charge of the Irish Blues since 2003 and have been going to watch the Blues since 1990 – after watching all 3 clubs in Birmingham. Blues was the best craic. I moved back to Dublin in 1994 and only met up with Irish Blues after the 3-0 win over Villa.

My favourite Blues game has to be the Duggary show vs Southampton. This season my hopes for the Blues, was simply to stay up - but now it’s shooting for top 10 finish!

I work in construction, but not as much as I’d like at the moment!

Any bluenose in Ireland can join our club by just logging on our site as we dont charge anything. We usually have a few members coming over for games, but it’s always an early start in the morning about 4 ish to fly over.

Some pubs in Dublin, have shown nearly every game this season. So if you’re in Dublin on a Saturday, check out our site before hand and I’ll have the information up if our game is on.

to contact us go to our site and you can drop me an e-mail from there.

Richard.

If you are involved in a supporters club anywhere in the world and would like Joys and Sorrows to give you a plug, contact Kev via the contact page.

    Hi there Kev,
I am absolutely delighted that there is a local Dublin supporters’s club for the Blues. I just decided to google it and couldn’t believe it when I saw that there was something being run by your good self.
It always seems that there are more supporters in Ireland for the bigger clubs like ManU and Liverpool so it’s really refreshing to see that the Blues have not been forgotten.
I am a Brummie myself but have lived in the Dublin area for over 15 years. I have supported the Blues for more years than I can care to remember.
It was disappointing that the Blues couldn’t beat Reading to go further on in the FA Cup.
My son, Alex, and I were at the Blues ground in December and saw the amazing match between the Blues and Chelsea. Gosh that was some result. In the beginning of the season, I would have accepted them staying in the Premiership but it would have been great if they could have progressed to the UEFA league next season. They’re still in with a fighting chance though.
Well I seem to have gone on here.

Keep up the good work Kev.

    All the best,
    Rita
