A Few Facts
In our meetings to date, Birmingham have won 28 and Spurs have won 44 with 19 draws.
In the Premier League Birmingham have won 3, Spurs 6, and 3 draws.
We have just 1 victory from our last 5 Premier League games, scoring 3 goals. Spurs have lost just 1 from the last 7 Premier League games. They have only conceded 2 goals in those games.
Team News
Spurs
New signing Eidur Gudjohnsen, was signed too late to figure and Aaron Lennon, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Benoit Assou-Ekotto are all out. Ledley King may play a part however.
Blues
Alex McLeish must decide who starts up front. I thought that Fahey did well against Everton and McFadden played well especially in the first half. I think Fahey deserves a shout, but you wouldn’t blame the manager for reverting to the Jerome Benitez partnership.
As far as I know there are no other worries through the side. It is expected that Michel and Gardner will be on the bench.
I saw McLeish on SSN saying that the players need to treat wednesday’s result like dandruff and just shake it off. This is what I like about him, he doesn’t make a big deal about losing or winning – he treats them the same. I believe the plays can and will shake off wednesday’s result, and will provide a decent performance. However, Spurs are a much improved side and I only expect a point from this game, but I’ll take that.
Prediction 1-1

got that wrong i fancy 2 – 1 to blues
If you get at us early we might crack as most of our players ain’t mentally very tough but if we start passing the ball around well then watch out. Modric looks like he’s getting back to his best but we’re lacking real pace down the wings which makes us play very narrow and clogs up the midfield. 2-1 spurs.
The Blues are on a fantastic run of form at the moment and the trip to St Andrews is definately one i wasnt particularly looking forward to as a Spurs fan.
Was hoping you guys would beat the Chavs for us Yiddos on wednesday but it wasnt to be unfortunately. I am confident it will be a good game and i am hoping the defeat to the Chavs midweek may have made the Blues a bit shaky at the back. Will be very happy with a draw but a win would be fantastic (obviously).
My prediction 2-2, a very hard fought draw for Spurs.
Thank you for your thoughts Spurs fans. I agree that I think it’ll be close. As I said in my preview, shaking off Wednesday’s result is more important – having a decent performance. A point would be fine for me.
Hope we stick it to ‘em 3-0 today but will be quite happy if it is a scrambled goal in the 93rd minute for 1-0, hey I’ve been a Blues supporter for 53 years and I have read the script !!
What the hell is Redknapp playing at ? He has worked wonders with first Portsmouth and now Spurs so obviously has a special touch but this thing over Pavluychenco is almost seeming to be victimising the poor player. He refuses to play him and puts him on the bench where again it seems he ranks 7th in line out of 7 subs, I think he would bring the keeper on in an outfield position rather than Pav. He does finally bring him on in the cup a couple of weeks ago, the lad scores after 4 minutes and a pretty good goal at that then gets shipped off back to oblivion. Now this morning they say he is not for sale after signing another striker so relegating Pav to 5th choice. Harry give the lad a break, he wants to play not be a pawn in your power games ! I know Harry won’t see this but it does feel better to get that off my chest.
GO GET ‘EM LADS
I think one of the problems with the deal for Pav is that Harry thinks we are threat a club in direct competition I would prefer a home grown striker like Boydy who would not be cup tied.
Blues for the cup
