Rooney is currently playing in a 4-3-3 formation for United. He is doing very well and becoming the world class player we all knew he would become.
Perhaps Mr Capello can now see that Rooney does not need Emile Heskey as a strike partner in a 4-4-2 formation?

Whilst there's no denying his talent, my issue with Wayne Rooney has always been his inability to fully control the red mist that often descends. He has a rather poor disciplinary record, with numerous vicious incidents resulting in red cards, let us not forget that this is the same player that effectively ended Steve Vickers' career by putting a hole the size of a 50p piece in his foot with a terrible challenge. A thug by any other name.

That said, he has matured a little. He's still quick to throw tantrums, but not quite as quick as he used to be. There's still a lot of room left to mature, and if he manages to do that whilst keeping the controlled aggression in his game then there's no reason why he can't be one of England's greats for years to come.
