This is tricky one as I didn’t actually see the game.
There are a number of different opinions, (as always), on the forum. So I have drawn my comments from them and from the media’s take on the game.
Quite simply we it appears we were outclassed by the form team in the Premier league. They have so many quality players, we were always going to struggle to get anything out of it.
I did see the goals, and they were very well taken – however we didn’t defend well with them, which is not like us. I hope this is just one of those games – as we can’t afford to defend like that in our remaining home games.
Ok the positives. I gather that we did work hard all through the game and later on could have had another goal when Derbyshire was put through. We got only our 2nd penalty in the league this season which Seb blasted home. (Not that Gardner was too impressed as the club penalty taker! Would have been interested to see what would have happened if Seb had missed it.)
We could have got really hammered after conceding inside the first few minutes – but our goal difference was only dented by 2 and so that’s not too bad.
All in all, not as bad as it could have been. We travel to Anfield on Saturday. We’ve done pretty well against Liverpool in recent years, however with Kenny back there – that will be another tough trip.
Keep believing guys, we WILL stay up!
