A comprehensive win after a difficult start. I wasn’t able to go, so had Blues Player to listen to.

Sheffield Utd started strongly, and put the Blues on the back foot. However Blues these days are no push overs, even with 5 changes and it wasn’t long before we started creating chances.

It wasn’t too much of a surprise when we took the lead. A Mutch corner was turned in by Redmond on the 18th minute. From then on, it sounded like we were never in trouble. Rooney put us 2-0 up after 38, with the first of his brace scoring from a Chris Burke cross.

The start of the 2nd half, Sheffield Utd put Blues under pressure again and Doyle had to make a save – but as often happens with a side pressing, they left gaps at the back. Blues made it 3-0 on the 58th minute when Wade Elliott shot from 20 yards. Blues scoring pattern continued when they scored on the 78th minute to go 4-0 up with Rooney adding his 2nd.

A special mention for the 4,000 Blues fans, you came over loud and clear and did the club proud!

So once again we are in the 5th round, apparently we are ball 15 in the draw tomorrow.

As far as Blues and our play, we’ve scored 16 goals in our last 5 games, we’ve only conceded 1 and haven’t conceded any in the last 4, over 400 minutes has elapsed since that goal was put in against us.

Despite all the uncertainty behind the scenes with the owner and who may be sold – the squad are giving 100% and as fans we can’t ask for any more than that.
