Women’s Champions League Semi-finals for Blues Ladies

Goals from Kirsty Linnett and Remi Allen put Blues Ladies into the Women’s Champions League semi-finals for the first time ever on Sunday. This gave the women a 3-0 aggregate victory over Arsenal after a 1-0 1st leg win.

This is an absolutely FANTASTIC achievement, and the ladies should be really proud of themselves as well as all the coaching staff.

They now face a very tough challenge as they have been drawn against the Swedish side Tyreso in the semi-final. The Swedes beat  the Austrian side Neulengbach s 8-1 on aggregate aggregate to gain their place.

Blues manager David Parker said on the BBC Sport website: “It will be a huge task against one of the best teams in the world, but we’ll go into the tie with confidence after this great win.”

Well David, we hope the ladies will bring some glory back after what has been an extremely disappointing season for the 1st team this year.
