February Update

We're pleased to confirm that we're just awaiting confirmation now from the FSA that the Supporters Trust is formally set up; all the documentation we have to get written and signed has been and we believe by the end of this month the Supporters Trust will be formally in existence.

As such, we will be shortly giving details on how to join the trust formally. Although we haven't got any free pens or badges to give away yet, joining will enable you to help shape how the Trust works and what it's aims are, and to help build it's influence with the club.

We're planning to do a "roadshow" of sorts of informal meetings in pubs around Brum so that you can get involved; whether it's to ask questions or to make suggestions - we want your input. Likewise, we're going to be updating the website, the twitter (@bluestrust) and facebook (http://www.facebook.com/bluestrust) accounts frequently - not just with what we're up to but with your ideas and your thoughts.

We're planning to formally launch the trust with a big public meeting - this has been pencilled in for April 7th (the day of the Palace home game) although this may change subject to confirmation on meeting rooms etc. We're also delighted to confirm that we now have a physical HQ at the Royal George Hotel and Bar on Garrison Lane.

The next month is going to entail lots of hard graft as we work to publicise the trust, to organise the launch meeting and to build the movement. If you would like to get involved please get in touch via our email address - info@bluestrust.org

This IS a good thing to get involved with.

I was a lot more active than I am now, infact I'm proud to say I was one of the original members at the very first ever meeting as well as being an active member of the first working group.

I took a step back as there were a couple of genuine idiots there who, thankfully, are no longer as involved as they were - one, another founding member but a argumentative BNP member (genuinely) who refused to give back a deposit we'd all contributed to as he felt it was payment for his time in the trust, has thankfully stepped away completely. He could have been an absolute PR disaster.....

It's now heading firmly in the right direction and has some very talented people involved in all aspects. If you have been thinking about joining but haven't yet, for whatever reason, I'd urge you to get involved now. They need more good heads and good souls and there are people here who'd be ideal additions!

I've been involved in this group from the beginning and would be delighted to see more of the J&S folk join us.

I'll join. Tbh I thought it was the same mob that organised that pathetic protest before the Everton friendly, but I'm mistaken!

There's going to be a Blues Trust meeting on Saturday, before the game against Crystal Palace, at 11 a.m at Transport House, 211 Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1AY. Planning has been a bit rushed but we wanted to fit in a meeting before the end of the season. It may be a bit too far for Aff or Kev to come but I hope I will see some of the J&S folk there.

Those that can't make the meeting can join online.

Bit early for me, Margaret, but I'll be there in spirit and I'll join up. Dismally sad sniping from the schoolboys at SHA, I see.

The snipings don't worry me. My first reaction was to think 'There is no such thing as bad publicity.' When I checked that out on the web I found an article that said researchers have found that negative publicity helps smaller brands in crowded markets by increasing product awareness. For these lesser-known brands, consumers forget their negative perceptions more quickly than their general awareness of the product. On the other hand, negative publicity uniformly hurts established brands.
