Hi guys,

Since the blog has closed, I have not had a steady stream of revenue to pay for the hosting fees for Joys & Sorrows. I'm happy to report that the blog is currently being worked on but it will be some time before it's up and running to the standard where I can advertise to cover my hosting fees.

The site isn't cheap to run and the fees have been coming out of my pocket for quite a while now - we've had to move server a number of times from cheap shared hosting up to semi-dedicated, as I'm sure you guys remember.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, I'm going to stick a Paypal donate button at the bottom of the forum. Any spare pennies and donations would be most welcome to ensure the immediate future of J & S.

I'm not going to name who does and doesn't donate so no-one should feel obliged. It's your choice and if you're fine with going to hell, don't donate... ;)

Nah, donate if you can / wish. If not, don't sweat it or feel guilty. I doubt J & S will be going anywhere but it has cost quite a bit to run over the last 12 months or so. Basically, I'm just asking for help for that and the next few months whilst the blog is sorted out.

- Aff

Aff - Realistically how much do you need from people to keep going? £5 a piece? £10?
I personally think for this forum we should all help out.

Like I say Cliff, as much as people can spare. A couple of quid, a tenner, a fiver... whatever. It all helps. It's cost a small fortune over the last 12 months or so whilst the blog has been pretty much dead and at this moment in time, I really have better things to be spending money on, sadly :(

The blog is being redeveloped but since everything was put into an archive, I've lost all my links in Google and visitor numbers are right down. It's building it up from the ground up again and as you know, that takes time. So far, I've had some very kind donations and I thank those people from the bottom of my heart.

J & S is a labour of love for me and I'd hate to see it die :) If it came down to it, I think I'd just have to go without food :lol

at favorable rates ,and commissions going to your website costs etc

I would like to point out I know nothing about Graham and the statement above is false and purely for entertainment purposes.

No he isn't.

Graham USED to have a web link. I removed it because I thought it would be more polite as a new member if he asked about posting his link first.

On the subject of donations, you're all stars.

You guys have no idea how much I appreciate what you have donated. It'll keep us going for quite some time and will not be moved out of my Paypal account. Every penny will go towards J & S.

Thank you, people.
