Joey Barton Poll Added Info
The vote is close in number, yet all the comments are no.
Please leave a comment on the poll announcement post below. I would especially like to hear from yes voters.

Joey Barton, a New Poll
We are being linked with Joey Barton, (again).
There is no doubt he is a good footballer and would bring graft to the midfield. However he has got a history.
If the bloke has changed, would you want him at the club? Or is the thought of him in a Blues shirt so abhorrent that you couldn’t speak, well please vote.

Round Up of Last Weeks Transfer Rumours
I was going to do this Friday, but circumstances got away from me – so I apologise it’s a little late.
Ok, what was about then?
We are being linked with a number of players home and abroad of various quality over a number of positions.
Firstly the stronger ones. We continue to be linked with Man City’s Joe Hart. The goalkeeper is considered hot property, so a permanent signing isn’t an option just now – but he could be a very good loan signing.
Our defence has clearly been highlighted by club and fans alike, as an area we MUST strengthen. The following few names fall into that category.
We also continue to be linked with Central Defender Giovanny Espinoza, Skysports who is another South American. This seems stronger than just a rumour now, as the Skysports article indicates. I don’t know that much about the player – but I gather he is strong and quick for his size. If we do sign him this week – it sounds like he would be a second good addition. Of course it would hopefully help Benitez in settling in too.
Apparently we have also made a bid for Cardiff’s defender Roger Johnson. We also apparently are interested in Coventry City skipper Scott Dan, another defender. There are also stories linking us to Watford’s Mike Williamson and Olympique Marseille defender Renato Civelli. The latter is another South American, (surely that has to be true then
), who would be available on a free. We like free!!
Another free agent is Standard Liege central defender Oguchi Onyewu, who if you believe certain sites, we are very close to signing.
In other positions, we are apparently tracking Hapoel Tel Aviv frontman Samuel Yeboah- who appears to really wants to play in the Premier League.
In the middle of the park, apparently Bolton and the Blues are competing to sign Anderlecht’s Argentine playmaker Lucas Biglia, who would cost about £6m and are also battling to snap up ex-Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davies. Apparently that was from The Mirror, but I don’t have a link.
The conclusions are, we seem to be being linked with the right sort of players at the moment and at the right time. I am pleased with this. We obviously won’t get everyone, but a couple of defenders and a playmaker would be great coupled with the loan of Hart.
Anyway, it’s early days, expect a host of other names to be banded about before August!
Feel free to post your thoughts on these or any other possible targets. Also if you would like to do a player profile for any new players for the blog – contact me here.
