A Step Nearer to New Owners

Our friends at Often Partisan posted the link to this announcement posted today on the HK Stock market.

It appears that there are definitely two interested parties who are looking to buy the Blues. No one knows who they are, but they are clearly foreign investors.

I am cautiously optimistic that we may have a way to move forward. There is no doubt that Mr Yeung’s court case has been the major obstacle to that happening. However, there is no guarantee that any new owners would invest in the way we would want, but something does need to happen. For all the good times under CY’s tenure, unfortunately he has now probably lost sufficient fans to mean that his position is untenable – and that is regardless of any legal outcome.

So we will have to wait and see, I just hope that it doesn’t take as long as last time!!

  1. It could just be that, from the other side of the World, i am mistaken but it does seem to me that posts on this site are materially down this year as compared to last year. Even the angry ones aren’t here very often anymore. Only 2 people have commented on the artcle about the H’field loss for example, and they seem more interested with the past at H’field than with the present at Blues. Partly the lack of interest may no doubt be due to the poor start Blues have made, which is worrying to say the least. Partly i suspect a wider malaise -which may even be affecting the team – and which is linked to lack of ownership direction (and for that matter lack of ownership funding). I hope this aspect is sorted out soon – it can only help. KRO from NZ
